#VCVSPOTLIGHT The Body Shop F/W 17 Collection Launch

Yesterday we had the opportunity to witness the preview of the Fall/Winter 2017 collection hosted by The Body Shop.

The event was held in a beautifully decorated space at the Four Seasons Hotel in Vancouver. The Body Shop team made the space chic, intimate and interactive.

We were met by the senior marketing/branding team who let us play with the new vegan face masks, body yogurts (banana is b-a-n-a-n-a-s), and all the great unreleased fall/winter products which gave us the chance to have fun, experiment and further discuss what’s  new and improved about the collection.

Some of our personal favorites were their new fall bath fizzers, which are brewing with beautiful, new, and  super fresh scents. The lavender was our favorite!

Jessica Spencer, Vice President of Marketing and Brand Social Responsibility gave us an amazing run down of the company’s biggest corporate social responsibility campaign yet. They are looking to end cosmetic testing on animals everywhere and the team at Vancity Vogue couldn’t be more ecstatic about it! Their current goal is to get 8 million global signatures, at which point they will present this matter to the  UN General Assembly in 2018.

We would love for our readers to get involved – feel free to check out the company’s hashtag #ForeverAgainstAnimalTesting and sign the petition HERE!

We are head-over-heels for their adorable new packaging! Their new advent calendars feature a countdown to New Years Day as well. Who doesn’t want to count down to  a champagne galore?!

One of our absolute favorite products from the preview – Banana Body Yogurt! A subtle, yet refreshing lotion which is crazy moisturizing and the perfect cream to have on your dresser for the chillier season ahead.

Our ultimate favorite new product: Japanese Matcha Tea Pollution Clearing mask. Their formula is creamy, smells amazing and has wicked good reviews across the board with other bloggers. This gem is made with matcha green tea sourced from Kakegawa, Japan and dandelion extract.

Best part about this product is their promise to reconnect elephants separated by deforestation by building a natural corridor of landscape called a bio-bridge. Every purchase protects and regenerates one square metre of bio bridge for elephants to reach their loved ones and reunite. LOVE.

Which product are you most excited to try? Let us know! And don’t forget to sign the petition to end animal testing in the cosmetic industry!

Vancouver Fashion Week – Day 4

The fourth day of Vancouver Fashion Week was an absolute juxtaposition of design. The Spring/Summer 2018 collection from Evan Clayton celebrated fetish wear in vinyl primary colours with chaps that freed the butt cheek.

With a gorgeous sunset radiating in the background, pink mojitos were flowing alongside plump, glistening Fanny Bay oysters, the vision of at-risk individuals in the developing world was the farthest thing from everyone’s mind.
